Whatever your reason for visiting Grantown-on-Spey, it’s a great place to do something that benefits your health and wellness. Whether you prefer to be active in the great outdoors, take time out for a massage or simply sit in a cafe watching the world go by, you’re sure to find something you’ll enjoy among these suggested itineraries. And do remember to take a moment to breathe in the clean, fresh Highland air!

Reconnect with nature

Immerse yourself in natural beauty by joining a 1.5 – 2 hour session of forest bathing, or shinrin-yoku, with Highland Quietlife. Cath Wright, Nature and Forest Therapy Guide, will lead you on a ‘tree speed’ short walk through glorious local woodland, showing you how to slow down, ‘bathe’ in the forest goodness and reconnect with yourself and the environment around you.

Pamper yourself

The Therapy Suite spa in Seafield Avenue is perfect for that classic spa experience in luxurious surroundings. The extensive treatment menu has something to suit everyone. Pick from manicures, pedicures or a new hairstyle.

If you’re in a small group, you can even pre-book a special pamper party to enjoy exclusive use of the thermal suit and relaxation lounge, complete with wine and nibbles! The thermal suite has a range of facilities, including underfloor heating, a steam room and infrared sauna. You’ll also find a jacuzzi, experience showers, loungers and seating area. The thermal suite is available to use with or without additional treatments.

Every visitor can use the relaxation lounge, which seats up to 12 people with a choice of complimentary hot drinks. And there are lockers, changing and shower rooms, including GHD hair dryers and straighteners.

Fancy new nails?

New to Grantown in 2024, is Cela Vista, a new nail bar in the High Street. This is the first venture for owner Marciela MacRitchie, who offers a range of treatments by appointment. As well as manicures, Marciela can give your nails a totally new look, with special artwork. Choose from a range of designs, from simple to intricate colours and patterns.

Further down the street is Vida Medical and Aesthetics Ltd, where you can get a range of professional treatments. These include dermal fillers and anti-wrinkle injections, all delivered by GP, Dr Jo Weir, and Cara Brooks, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner. Both are qualified in facial aesthetic treatments. You can also get private GP appointments, as well joint injections, minor surgery, travel vaccinations and more.
