Sustainable Strathspey
Sustainable Strathspey’s objective is to provide a space where people can share and discuss ideas, and act together. While our environmental worries can threaten to overwhelm us, we will focus on what we can do to help. We believe small changes can lead to big change. Together, we hope to make our beautiful Strathspey more sustainable.
Aims
- Reduce Badenoch and Strathspey’s carbon footprint

- Promote and facilitate health and well-being within the Badenoch and Strathspey community as an integral part of sustainable living
- Promote community resilience and the emergence of a more green/circular economy
- Support and facilitate political involvement and activism within the community
Who we are
We are a subgroup of The Grantown Initiative. You can view a video here from our first virtual climate café explaining a bit more about who we are and our hopes for the group. As covid-19 restrictions ease and we come into spring and summer we hope to be able to get out doing more volunteering as a group and getting started on small projects. We hope to inspire individuals to make small positive changes in their daily habits and choices. If you would like to become a member, it is totally free, and you can simply fill in this membership form. Look out for our regular column in the Strathspey and Badenoch Herald Newspaper each month.

Climate Cafes
Come along to find out more about Sustainable Strathspey and get involved with projects aiming to make Grantown and the surrounding area more sustainable and help tackle the current climate crisis. We often have a guest speaker at the start and then an option to break out into more specialised groups depending on what you’re most interested in, or just stay in a general chat. The groups include transport, habits at home, and gardens, bees and trees. If you’re interested in coming along or finding out more please email us.
