Grantown-on-Spey is surrounded by stunning scenery with miles of trails through our woods, along the River Spey and to viewpoints
Leave your car behind and discover Grantown on foot or bike
Grantown is surrounded by ancient Pine Woodlands in the community owned Anagach Woods, Beachen Woods, up to the Viewpoint where there are stunning views across the town to Cairngorm and along the River Spey.
The miles of trails are easily accessed from the town and can be enjoyed by walkers and cyclists exploring waymarked paths. The Speyside Way comes through the Anagach Woods and many visitors hiking this long-distance route spend a night in Grantown.
There is plenty of wildlife to spot with bird and squirrel feeders in some of the trees. Look out for red squirrel, crested tit, roe deer and the elusive capercaillie.
Have a go at Mountain Biking on the Mountain Bike Trail Park in the Anagach Woods. Created in 2012, the trails are perfect for practicing your biking skills.
If you don’t have your own bike, you can hire one at Basecamp Bikes in the Town Square.
