Grantown-on-Spey is one of Scotland’s best preserved planned towns. Created in the mid 18th century as a manufacturing town, it grew to become the Victorians’ favourite Highland holiday retreat. Grantown Museum provides a fascinating insight into the Scottish Enlightenment and beyond into the movers and shakers of the 19th century. With plenty of fun, interactive activities for children and wonderful objects and photographs from our extensive collections on display, our award-winning museum is definitely worth a visit. We have a fantastic temporary programme of art and heritage shows in our gallery, a great shop with unique gifts, and great information about the area.
Our visitor information service can guide you in making your stay the best possible experience.
